The “On Beauty” team is excited to announce many new education initiatives that come after a successful event-filled summer. Joanna Rudnick’s newest documentary challenges us to rethink the way we see differences within ourselves and others, and we are excited to bring the film and movement to young people around the country.

Our distribution partner, Women Make Movies, is helping us create the educational DVDs that schools and other institutions may purchase to show the film in classes and other educational settings. This exciting partnership will help bring the film to students around the country and will be a perfect pair with our educational materials. The DVDs are expected to be ready in early 2016, but are available for pre-order here or you may contact for more information.

The film also continues to screen at special events, schools and festivals around the world. Photographer Rick Guidotti, one of the stars of the film, will be part of a panel discussion and screening event at NYU’s School of Dentistry on Oct. 16. The same day, “On Beauty” will screen at middle and high schools in Ridgewood, NJ, where the last scene of the film takes place, for the annual ACCESS Ridgewood event.

On Oct. 19, we will be part of North Seattle College’s Film Series, which is an annual program designed to use film as part of their diversity efforts. We also continue to work with ReelAbilities and head to the festival in Pittsburgh on Oct. 22.

We then finish the month with two screenings on Oct. 29: for an arts and healthcare journal club at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada and the Greenville Medical Society and Alliance in Greenville, SC.

Earlier this month the film was once again part of the high school workshop at the annual conference for the American Society of Human Genetics and Rick Guidotti was part of a panel about changing the way beauty is represented in media that was organized by the Asian American Film Lab and hosted at the Time Warner Theater in NYC.
