This week Joanna Rudnick’s award-winning film finished its theatrical premiere in LA and opened in NY theaters, and has been accompanied by a surge of interest, proving that the time has come for Rick Guidotti’s movement encouraging society to see the beauty in difference.

At 1 p.m. this Sunday at Cinema Village in New York, Rick and Joanna will attend a special screening. Get tickets.

Then on Tuesday, Aug.4 at 6:30 p.m. the film travels to D.C. where Kartemquin Films, the U.S. Department of State Office of the Special Advisor for International Disability Rights, and the American Film Showcase present the Washington D.C. premiere, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the American Disabilities Act. Rick, Joanna, and Jayne Waithera will attend for a panel discussion moderated by Special Advisor for International Disability Rights Judith Heumann, with opening remarks by Evan Ryan, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs. RSVP to attend for free (donation suggested) by emailing

Coverage of On Beauty so far has come from the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek; People; CBS Radio News; Mashable; Bustle; L’Etage; Afropunk; You Beauty; Indiewire; The Today Show, Yahoo! Style, The Huffington Post, Flickr; Popsugar; The Daily Mail (UK), and more.

Additional coverage has come from a major feature in The New York Times, and Parents Magazine, and the film was given a 5-star review at Blogcritics. Expect more still in the next few days!

The response has been amazing and so gratifying to the filmmakers, but most meaningful has been the praise from viewers at the LA screenings.
