“On Beauty” will play for a sold-out crowd on Saturday as part of the Chicago International Film Festival, which caps off a week of screenings that marks the film’s world premiere. The event starts at 1:15 p.m. at the AMC River East theater in Chicago. Audience members will not only get to see the film, but they will also be able to share their stories with Joanna, Rick, Jayne and other special guests who have helped make this film possible.
There will be a post-screening panel that will address the challenges and importance of changing public perceptions, Rick’s work, the film and the filmmaking process. The panel includes Joanna, Rick, Jayne, Liz Kaar, the editor and an associate producer, and Mike McGowan, the president of the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation.
Also on Saturday, “On Beauty” will have a second screening during the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in Arkansas where Kartemquin co-founder and artistic director, Gordon Quinn, will receive a career achievement award. Purchase tickets to the Hot Springs event here.
