‘On Beauty’ wins audience award in Chicago
Categorized in: Recent News
Audiences at the 50th Chicago International Film Festival voted “On Beauty” as their favorite short film of the festival. Joanna Rudnick’s newest documentary won the festival’s Audience Choice Award after it played on Oct. 18 in front of a sold-out crowd as part of the film’s world premiere week.
This award shows that the stories of Rick, Jayne and Sarah can inspire so many people and we are excited to use this momentum to bring the film to even more audiences. We truly appreciate everyone’s support of the film and the movement to broaden our definitions of beauty and change public perceptions of difference.
We would like to thank all the people who came out during the world premiere week, not just in Chicago, but in Hot Springs, Ark. and San Diego as well. “On Beauty” next heads to the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival in Colorado Springs, Colo. and DOC NYC in New York City. DOC NYC will be the New York premiere and Joanna, Rick and Sarah Kanney are expected to attend.
