The Huffington Post reported yesterday, that in two separate incidents, two teens committed suicide due to bullying at school.

An 18-year-old high school student, Lance Lundsten, was openly gay. On Lance’s memorial facebook page, his friends posted about him being bullied for his sexual orientation. Have you been mean to someone just because they were different from you?

A 16-year-old high school student, Tiffani Maxwell also committed suicide over the weekend. Her family claimed it was also due to bullying at school. Supposedly students at school had spread rumors that Tiffani was using drugs. Have you ever talked about someone in a way that could really hurt them?

For all the bullying that occurs in schools, it’s not enough to just not do it. What would you do if you saw a person being mean to someone because they were different? Or lying about someone to intentionally hurt them? It takes a lot of courage to stand up to a bully, there is no denying that. What if the bully was your friend, could you still stand up for what is right?
